The Canon Keeper is a narrative-driven document inspection game set in a dystopian future where the government has destroyed existing Bibles and begun distributing rewritten versions of Scripture. The player works in an underground resistance facility, examining recovered passages and determining whether each document contains authentic Scripture or altered material. Gameplay centers on reviewing documents, comparing passages, using reference tools, and making decisions under time pressure. Players can use mechanics such as prayer, cross-referencing, and document inspection to help determine whether material should be preserved in the Bible or destroyed. Decisions made throughout the game can influence the resistance, underground churches, and the events that unfold outside the player’s workspace.
